Employing over 12,000 staff in our 27 cheese-making facilities and 31 offices worldwide Bel’s international and local brands are present in more than 120 countries.
At Bel we believe that success is founded on 3 closely linked assets:
Firstly, a high-performance industrial structure
Secondly, unforgettable advertising
Thirdly clear understanding of local markets.
The fact that the Bel Group is essentially family-owned is an important factor in ensuring the long term stability and continued development of the Group.
Bel UK
Bel UK Ltd is the Kent-based subsidiary of the Bel Group, supplying internationally renowned brands such as Mini Babybel, The Laughing Cow, Leerdammer, Boursin and Port Salut. Around 40 people are employed at Bel UK's offices in Maidstone, where the main focus of operation is on selling, marketing and distributing Bel brands. Selling around 12,000 tonnes of cheese each year and with a turnover of approximately £70m, many of our cheeses are category leaders and our advertising campaigns are award winning.
Something we take very seriously both at a group and UK level is the effect we’re having on the environment. And that is why we are constantly challenging ourselves with internal regulations that are even more stringent than the current legislation. These strict rules have enabled us to minimise our pollution, limit our consumption of water and energy, and reduce and recycle our waste. Bel is also part of a worldwide scheme to reduce carbon emissions, to help protect the environment and the local communities who live in them.
