The UK's top cheese triangle brand, The Laughing Cow®, is now available in a handy squeezable bottle.
Two varieties are now on sale: The Laughing Cow® Squeeze and its lower fat cousin The Laughing Cow® Squeeze Light. Spreadable cheese has never been so convenient - making meal times even more fun.
The launch of the Squeeze bottles is the latest in a long line of innovations for The Laughing Cow®. It was the world's first ever registered cheese brand, launched in France in 1921.
Bel UK has set up a fun and interactive microsite for its playful Mini Babybel® brand.
The site was launched to engage completely with the younger target audience and to reflect the fun, healthy and playful image of the Mini Babybel® brand.
Key features include two fully branded interactive games that can be forwarded on to friends, fun recipes for kids to make at home, a "Cheesy Facts" quiz and a promotion in association with adidas. Here, kids are invited to enter promotional on-pack codes for a chance to win a whole range of goodies.
The online campaign coincides with the brand new Mini Babybel® TV campaign and, in addition to the features above, the site allows kids to watch the three latest Mini Babybel® TV commercials and download four different wallpapers onto their desktops.
The microsite can be visited at www.minibabybel.co.uk
With more cheeses from more countries worldwide than any other competition, the World Cheese Awards is advertised by its organisers, as the premier international cheese event.
In 2005, the competition returned to where it all began in 1987: the International Food & Drink Exhibition (IFE). As the UK's largest and most important food trade exhibition, IFE 05 (from March 10th-16th) at London's ExCel, is estimated to have attracted upward of 25,000 trade visitors and, with its numerous overseas pavilions, it offered the World Cheese Awards even greater international exposure.
Part of the Awards' appeal is its ability to pitch large cheesemakers against small, artisan against mainstream, new world against old, and to acknowledge the role each plays in developing trade in home and international markets. Due to the enormous volume of entries, cheese classes are split into tightly defined varieties, styles of making and even seasons.
Judging was organised by the UK Cheese Guild and took place on Thursday 10th March in the Pillar Hall at London's Olympia. Working in teams of four, 120 judges bored, cut, tasted, discussed and evaluated before awarding Gold, Silver or Bronze.
Three days later, at IFE 05, the World Cheese Awards 'deli' provided an unrivalled opportunity for buyers and retailers to savour the entire world of cheese. And many of this year's award-winning products were further showcased in the Tutored Tasting Theatre, adjacent to the Awards area, where cheese tastings took place on every day of the show.
Leerdammer® won two silver awards for the Leerdammer 6kg Lightlife® (1/2 wheel) in the "Reduced Fat" cheese category and for Leerdammer® 2.2kg (1/6 wheel) in the "Hard Pressed" cheese category. Leerdammer® was awarded two silver medals at this year's World Cheese Awards.
The awards went to Leerdammer 6kg Lightlife (1/2 wheel) in the "Reduced Fat Cheese" category and Leerdammer® 2.2kg (1/6 wheel) in the "Hard Pressed" cheese category.
